Iowa City man facing sexual abuse charges

An Iowa City man faces sexual abuse charges for allegedly having sex with a 13-year-old girl. Police said Herber M. Morales Supall, 21, of 106 Apache Trail, engaged in sexual relations with the teenager more than once at his residence.

When searching for a missing girl on Dec. 19, police were called to Morales Supall's residence around 4:30 a.m. where the girl was found hiding in a bedroom, according to criminal complaints.

Police said the girl was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics where she told police she had engaged in sexual intercourse with him two times in the morning.

Morales Supall was charged with third-degree sexual abuse and interference with official acts and remains in the Johnson County Jail on a 10,325 cash-only bond.
