Iowa blasts S.C. State 82-69

Iowa men won their second consecutive game with an 82-69 victory over South Carolina State on Monday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Matt Gatens scored 20 points, while Jarryd Cole scored 19. Eric May added 18.

Iowa leads South Carolina State 46-30 at halftime of tonight's non-conference game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Matt Gatens has 14 points for Iowa. The 46 points are the most in any half this season for the Hawkeyes. Iowa shot 53.6 percent in the first half.

Iowa Coach Todd Lickliter will talk about suspended guard Anthony Tucker after tonight's game against South Carolina State.

Tucker is suspended indefinitely after he was arrested early Sunday morning for public intoxication, his second alcohol-related arrest in 12 months.

Tucker was second in scoring at 11.9 points a game. Senior Devan Bawinkel will replace him in the starting lineup.
