No. 4 Purdue sinks Iowa 67-56

No. 4 Purdue held off a fesity effort from Iowa in a 67-56 win tonight in the Big Ten opener for both schools.
Iowa sophomore Aaron Fuller scored 15 points to lead the Hawkeyes. Eric May added 11.
Purdue's E'Twaun Moore led all scorers with 21 points.

Iowa has put together an 8-0 run to cut Purdue's lead to 10 points at 59-51 with 4:28 left.
Aaron Fuller hit a pair of free throws, then John Lickliter turned a steal into a highlight-reel layup. Jarryd Cole finished the run with a layup off a Matt Gatens' miss. One possession later Iowa's Eric May hit two free throws.

Iowa leads No. 4-ranked Purdue 27-26 at halftime of the Big Ten men's basketball opener at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The Hawkeyes stormed to a nine-point lead before the Boilermakers took a 26-24 lead with 1 minute left. Iowa's Devan Bawinkel drilled a 3-pointer with 32 seconds left to give Iowa the one-point lead.
It's the second time this year Iowa has either tied or led a top-five team at halftime. Iowa and No. 2 Texas were tied 38-38 earlier this year.
Aaron Fuller leads Iowa with nine points. Fuller, a sophomore, earned his first start since Iowa's second game. He also had five rebounds.
Purdue guard/forward Robbie Hummel also scored nine points.
Iowa out-rebounded Purdue 20-17 but had nine turnovers to Purdue's four.
