Good showing for Davis' Badgers

Wisconsin Coach Barry Davis was hopping around during the consolation round as a Badger was on the verge of winning. Tucked in a corner of arena, which has turned into a normal view for the coach, he was yelling instructions for a wrestler to keep his elbows tight.

Davis had plenty to be pleased about. The Badgers were almost assured of a fifth place team finish, advancing three to the championships, tying Iowa with the second-most finalists. Iowa State had four.

#4 Tyler Graff (133), who upset Iowa State's top-seeded Nick Fanthorpe, 5-3, in the semifinals, Kyle Ruschell (149) and top-seed Andrew Howe (165) reached title bouts.

Davis is a former three-time state champion from Cedar Rapids Prairie and a four-time All-American and three-time national champion for the University of Iowa.
