‘Gifts’ from Congress: Return to sender

Sen. Tom Harkin: Thank you so very much for your recent health care reform “Christmas present.” I placed it on my bookshelf right between the Social Security that is nearing bankruptcy, and the Medicaid that already is bankrupt.
Of course, I had to slide my Medicare (and the extra policy I have to buy because Medicare pays so poorly) off to the side to make a little more room. Right on the shelf below is the $1.4 trillion budget deficit that you gave me last year.
I am running out of room though. My shelves are full of junk that you and the rest of Congress has given me. My birthday is coming up soon. Please don't send me anything else!
