Casino could bring more people, revenue

I see the City of Cedar Rapids is going to conduct a study of what to do with the Crowne Plaza Five Seasons Hotel. One idea I have not seen raised yet is to convert a number of floors at the top of the hotel into a casino.
This would easily draw many people to the hotel on a regular basis and would be a boon to surrounding businesses as well. Having a casino in the hotel would also likely increase the number, frequency and quality of events at the attached U.S. Cellular Center.
Also, in the scenario where the City of Cedar Rapids ends up owning the hotel, additional revenue could possibly be generated for the city in addition to the casino tax revenue.
Just a thought.
