Stop blaming Bush for growing deficit
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jan. 10, 2010 11:48 pm
Our leftist government officials, along with President Barack Obama, have preached that “we Democrats have inherited a terrible deficit from the previous administration.” I wish I had a dollar every time I heard that.
I do agree with our president on the issue of inheriting a deficit. But, why do we need so many bailouts? Why do we need to spend more by passing an excessive health care reform package?
If Obama would like to continue blaming the previous administration, let me remind him and my fellow Iowans that he and his administration have added more in one year then George Bush did in eight years.
If our out-of-control spending continues, our country will be exactly in the program-cutting mode like the state of California. Our president needs to stop blaming Bush and company. Money doesn't grow on trees in Iowa; does money grow anywhere else?
