Linn-Mar kindergarten orientation dates announced

MARION - Orientation for Linn-Mar parents and guardians of 2010-11 kindergartners, and parents of those students who are presently in alternative kindergarten, will be held next month.

Children must be five years old by Sept. 15, 2010, to enroll in kindergarten. Parents or guardians must bring proof of their child's birth date, residency and immunizations. Families new to the district or those with their oldest child entering the district should call their residence attendance center to be placed on the mailing list for kindergarten information.

Orientation is for parents only. Orientations for each building are as follows:

-- Bowman Woods: Feb. 4 at 6:30 p.m. The snow makeup date is Feb. 11.

-- Echo Hill: Feb. 9 at 5 p.m. for registration. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. The snow makeup date is Feb. 16.

-- Indian Grove: Feb. 11 at 6 p.m.

-- Linn Grove: Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. The snow makeup date is Feb. 23.

-- Novak: Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m. The snow makeup date is Feb. 18.

-- Westfield: Feb. 4 at 6:30 p.m.

-- Wilkins: Feb. 16 at 5:30 p.m. for registration. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. The snow makeup date is Feb. 23.
