Cedar Falls recorded a violent crime rate of 370 per 100,000 citizens. The national average is 454.
Olson attributes the spike in vandalism to a series performed by one group that spray painted graffiti and accounted for more than 60 cases. The city also saw a 24 percent increase in drug violations.
