A makeup day and longer school days are the most popular choices in an online survey about making up snow days in the Des Moines School District.
Students have missed six days this winter because of snow and ice storms.
The district received over 10,000 responses to the survey that ended on Monday.
District spokeswoman Leigh McGivern says holding school on a parent-teacher conference day on March 12 and extending the school day were the top choices.
She says shortening spring break by a day or more and adding days to the end of the year were next, while Saturday school was a "distant fifth."
The district's calendar committee will look at the survey results on Wednesday. The school board will consider the committee's recommendation at its Feb. 16 meeting.
