Like it or not, snow should move back into eastern Iowa later in the day Sunday with chances continuing through Tuesday.
This system will have its origin to the northwest of Iowa and then drop down to the south of Iowa. Upper-level winds will then steer the system back northeast into the Ohio Valley Tuesday giving us the continued chance of snow.
Obviously Tuesday is a long time out, meteorologically speaking, and a lot can change, but at this point, eastern Iowa could possibly get 3-5? total snowfall from Sunday night to Tuesday night.
The central part of Iowa could see more than 6? during that same time period, thus the Winter Storm Watch out by the National Weather Service.
