Iowa men send Northwestern south

Iowa notched its most complete victory of the season in a 78-65 dismantling of Northwestern tonight at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The Hawkeyes were solid in nearly every phase. Matt Gatens had 16 points, while Aaron Fuller and Jarryd Cole each had 13. Fuller also had 11 rebounds.
Iowa improves to 9-16 (3-9 Big Ten) while Northwestern falls to 15-8 (5-7 Big Ten).

Iowa senior Devan Bawinkel has hit four 3-pointers to guide the Hawkeyes to a 35-22 lead over Northwestern tonight at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa has hit 46 percent of its shots and committed just two turnovers in the first half.
Bawinkel leads all scorers with 12 points. Iowa's Aaron Fuller has six points, while Matt Gatens and Jarryd Cole each have five. Fuller also has seven rebounds.
Michael Thompson leads the Wildcats with nine points.
Iowa started strong, jumping to a 10-2 lead. The Hawkeyes steadily increased their lead throughout the first half and built it to 15 points on a 3-pointer from Brennan Cougill. Northwestern's Mike Capocci scored a layup with 1 second left in the half to cut his team's deficit to 13.
