Father, son’s exchange showed respect
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Feb. 25, 2010 11:43 pm
I was at the theater the other night. After the movie, I was in the restroom and a dad and son came in. The son went into a stall and the dad said to him, “I'll be right here in front of the door for you.” The son immediately responded, “Thanks, Dad!”
The son said it with such love that my thoughts were to tell that dad that I thought he had quite a son. A son, whom that father surely felt great pride in and felt deep devotion toward.
It warmed my heart to hear the father and son exchange. To know there are still children who respect their parents and, by their actions, let them know it. I wish I had expressed my pleasure to this father and son. I could just kick myself.
Perhaps my next experience will bring forth the fruit of gracious and encouraging words to someone in need of uplifting.
