Labor agreement requires fair wage
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Feb. 27, 2010 11:26 pm
Regarding the Monday Gazette article about an upcoming vote by the Linn County supervisors on a project labor agreement (PLA) for the Linn County Community Services Building (PLA approved Tuesday). The article quoted both union and non-union parties.
Jeremy Price, owner of Price Industrial Electric, said, “I lose my advantage of being a good manager.” I assume that was in regards to the fact that all contractors will be required to pay their employees prevailing wage on this job. In my opinion, Price is losing is the ability to pay his workers an unfair wage and benefit package.
