Conservation board responds to taxpayers

Kudos to the Linn County Conservation Board for grooming the trails at Morgan Creek Park, Squaw Creek Park and Wickiup Hill for cross country skiers. Since Dec. 11, the trails have been packed and ski tracks set on a regular basis whenever snow conditions allow. Skiers from around Eastern Iowa are making it a point to visit these county parks to check out the trail systems.
In a time when it seems almost fashionable to point out what is not going well, it's encouraging to see an agency of county government put in daily work necessary to respond to taxpayers. Not only are skiers benefiting from increased accessibility to the trails, but so are hikers, snow shoers and others who enjoy the outdoors.
Thank you, Linn County Conservation Board. Keep up the good work.
