Former Agriprocessors manager denied motions for an acquittal and new trial

U.S. District Chief Judge Linda Reade denied motions today for an acquittal and a new trial on the bank fraud conviction of former Agriprocessors manager Sholom Rubashkin.
Reade ruled there was sufficient evidence for conviction on the 86 charges and none of the grounds argued in Rubashkin's motions warrant a new trial.
The 86-count conviction stemmed from the May 12, 2008 immigration raid at the Postville meatpacking plant where 389 illegal workers were charged.
