Rebuilding Sutliff bridge is a waste of money
The Gazette Opinion Staff

All the talk of rebuilding the Sutliff Bridge is wasted energy in my opinion. If the Feds put $2 million in that old, outdated thing, it will be a financial headache for future generations. In 40 or 50 years, there won't be anyone around who ever traveled the old bridge, so it won't be appreciated.
If there is some volunteer money in the till, it would be wisely used to take the old bridge down and save all the headaches of maintaining an antique.
That $2 million would be more wisely spent to help repair our highways.
