After a week of sunshine and warmth, snowfall returns to Eastern Iowa tonight.
Rain and snow showers will shift to all snow, bringing some accumulations to the state, according to KCRG-TV9 First Alert chief meteorologist Joe Winters. Trace to 2-inch amounts are expected across most of Eastern Iowa, with some high totals -- as much as 5 inches -- possible south of Interstate 80 and into far southeastern Iowa.
Chilly conditions are ahead for the weekend as well, before a warmup starts early next week.
