Obamacare is a move toward socialism

While I expected Obamacare to become the law of the land Sunday evening, I still felt physically ill and sad on Monday as reality hit. This bill is not about improving health care or controlling its costs; it will do neither. It is about continuing the government takeover of our country and instituting a European style of socialism.
Obamacare will be expensive for everyone. How can health insurance premiums not go up when insurance companies will be expected to accept all pre-existing conditions? What we do not pay in increased premiums, we will pay in taxes and fines. The Congressional Budget Office on March 18 stated that Obamacare will be paid for in part by $17 billion in individual penalties, $52 billion in business (mostly small) penalties, with $76 billion coming from taxes on prescriptions and medical equipment.
The Democrats insist there will be government help for individuals and small businesses that need it. In other words, the government will take the money from us and then decide who really needs it. Is this not the redistribution of wealth that candidate Obama bragged about to Joe the Plumber?
It's time to start thinking about November. Rep. David Loebsack of Iowa voted for Obamacare, including a version that imposed jail time for those who refuse to buy government health insurance. Let's start working to send someone new to Washington, D.C., for the 2nd District.
