Former Rider Kaunisto signs with NHL's Kings

Former Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward Ray Kaunisto has signed a two-year entry level free-agent contract with the NHL's Los Angeles Kings.
Kaunisto just finished his college career at Northern Michigan, scoring 18 goals and 32 points in 40 games this season. Northern Michigan was eliminated last weekend in the NCAA Division I regionals. Former RoughRiders assistant coach and current Kings scout Mark Mullen returned to The Stable for Wednesday's game and spoke glowingly of Kaunisto.
The 23-year-old Kaunisto played the 2005-06 season in Cedar Rapids, scoring five goals and 19 points in 53 games.
