Jetseta Gage’s mother also made poor choices

I have always found it disturbing that Trena Gage was not charged along with the Bentleys in her daughter's (Jetseta Gage) sexual abuse and murder cases. At least a charge of child neglect at the minimum.
In your March 23 article, the timeline on the top of page 5A shows that James Bentley was charged with sexually abusing Jetseta on Nov. 19, 2004. Why would any mother let the brother of a man who sexually abused your daughter for years work on her vehicle four months later? I find it disgusting that Trena Gage is portrayed as some sort of a random victim rather than a mother who made extremely bad choices.
To me, Jetseta was not just swept off the sidewalk by some random child rapist; she was an innocent victim who was abused by two men, one of which eventually brutally raped and killed her.
