Ronald E. Bettmeng Jr., 31, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine after a fire call at his southwest Cedar Rapids home Monday afternoon, according to court documents.
Police and firefighters called to 3925 Bowling St. SW a few minutes before 4 p.m. discovered lithium batteries, pseudoephedrine, and anhydrous ammonia intended to make meth, according to a complaint filed this morning.
Bettmeng is charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of precursors, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, for marijuana and meth officers found after executing a search warrant. He remains in the Linn County Jail in lieu of $43,000 cash bond.
