Legislature has helped Iowans with a lot

What do you know about our state legislature's activities? I like to keep informed at KCRG.com and choose the Legislative Watch. Maybe this newspaper can start a column next session listing the legislation being voted upon. (I saw a nice example last year while in Santa Fe).
Our governor and Democratic-controlled state legislature have helped Iowans with the following: smoking ban, tobacco tax increase, same-day voter registration, 4-year-old preschool, I-JOBS funding to upgrade sewer systems, clinical trials insurance coverage, civil rights for all, accountability tax credits, ending puppy mills, banning car title loans, reorganizing and reducing government, raising minimum wage and equal representation on boards.
There is more to do next session. Some examples are labor bills, local control of sites for hog lots, curbside recycling, health care for all, affordable tuition, small business Internet sales tax to better compete and mental health parity.
Thank your legislators for making the tough decisions while remembering those who can't help themselves.
