Cedar Rapids to delay filling some potholes

Cedar Rapids might not fill in some of the city's biggest potholes for a few weeks, as the only asphalt provider in the area hasn't started its plant up yet.
L. L. Pelling representatives said the company hasn't had enough major demand for its asphalt, so it's delaying its usual startup for two weeks, and will start on April 26.
'We're waiting for the product., and as soon as we have the product our crews will be doing that, in the interim we are fixing asphalt and without hot-asphalt boxes,' said Cedar Rapids Public Works Maintenance Manager Craig Hanson.
