Obama making dangerous mistakes
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Apr. 22, 2010 12:51 am
We are witnessing the greatest-ever abuse of power by a U.S. president. The only promise he fulfills is “change.” Little did we know that he meant “change” from our constitutional democracy to an unrestrained socialism.
The latest despicable example is the partisan, pork-filled Obama health care bill that was passed using bribes, threats, lies and fuzzy math. It will add further to the deficit while destroying the quality of our health care. It is obvious health care needed to be fixed, but it should have been done in an intelligent, bipartisan way with a strong input from knowledgeable professionals.
The most dangerous Obama blunder is his proclamation of America's unilateral restraint in response to an attack on our country. This broadcasts to our enemies a political weakness and lack of will in defending our country and can even invite attack. We are dealing with evil regimes that only respect the strength of a potential retaliation.
President Barack Obama has several other items on his agenda: amnesty for illegal immigrants, inflicting punishing cap and trade taxes and regulations on our economy, wealth redistribution, oppressive rules, a multitude of new taxes including a federal VAT or sales tax. These are job killers.
We must take back the House and Senate in November.
