Cedar Rapids Police are looking for a man accused of exposing himself and spying on customers in a Goodwill dressing room. Both incidents took place on Saturday, April 17th.
Goodwill employees told officers that earlier in the day they asked a white male in his 20s to leave the store. Customers said the man was sitting in a bathroom stall with no clothes on and the door open.
CRPD Sgt. Cristy Hamblin says officers believe the same man came back later in the day. That's when a woman in a dressing room noticed someone sliding a cell phone under the door of her dressing room as she was trying on clothes. Once the man was confronted he ran from the building and a customer followed him. Officers say the customer lost the man behind Collins Plaza. Witnesses say besides the jeans and t-shirt the suspect was wearing glasses, stood 5'6? and weighed around 165 pounds.
Hamblin says “a very astute” employee quickly copied down the license plates of every vehicle in the parking lot and at the end of the day only one vehicle was left. Officers are looking into who was driving the vehicle to see if the owner matches the suspect description.
