Porn-watching workers should be fired
The Gazette Opinion Staff
May. 4, 2010 12:39 am
Hey, Iowa congressional delegation, where are you? I've been reading our newspapers, listening to radio news and watching TV for the disposition of the disgraceful Securities and Exchange Commission employees who wasted so many of our taxpayer dollars watching sex Internet sites while on the job. This, at the same time our financial sector burned.
These disrespectful and wasteful government employees and their supervisors have not been terminated. How can this be, congressmen? This action is flat out stealing from us. It happened on your watch.
This old-timer wonders how many more of our government departments are devoid of basic management practices, skills, cost containment and goals.
Why have all of you not been screaming from the steps of the Capitol about this outrage? Is it any wonder that our country is so seriously in debt, out of fiscal balance, productivity deficient and morally bankrupt?
Congressmen, you should be ashamed of yourself to be allowing the out-of-control decline of our values. We are entitled to an explanation and a plan to right wrongs and make our government more efficient. Reasonable people, not limited to business, would put this incident into the firing category.
