Iowa athletics department under budget for Orange Bowl

The University of Iowa athletics department came in under budget for its week-long football trip to the Orange Bowl in December 2009 through January 2010.
Iowa spent around$1.895 million in expenses, according to figures provided to The Gazette and GazetteOnline by the University of Iowa via the Freedom of Information Act. The school received a budget of $1.95 million from the Big Ten as part of the league's revenue-sharing policy for bowl games.
Iowa spent $674,444 in meals and lodging, and $286,360 in team and staff transportation. The school also spent $457,307 for transportation and meals for the marching band. The school also spent $83,119 in expenses for university leadership, including President Sally Mason and members of the Presidential Committee on Athletics.
Iowa also incurred $36,080 because of unsold tickets. Here's a look at all the figures:
