Iowa ticket prices stay the same for basketball, increase for wrestling
May. 11, 2010 6:14 pm
Iowa's ticket prices for men's and women's basketball will remain the same for the upcoming season, but wrestling season tickets will increase modestly.
Wrestling season tickets will cost $67 for seven meets, up from $60 last year. Individual ticket prices will not increase.
"I think when you look at ticket prices we're trying to be very smart about our fan base," said Iowa senior associate athletics director Jane Meyer. "Our Iowa fans are absolutely great fans, yet we are well aware of where our economic times are and so we're trying to be smart about that."
Men's basketball public season-ticket prices will cost $266, which is down from $278 last year but only because Iowa will play fewer home games. All single-game tickets will stay the same -- $25 for Big Ten weekend premium games, $20 for Big Ten weekday games and $12 for non-conference, non-premium games.
Women's basketball public season-ticket prices remain the same at $70, and the single-game tickets remain $9 for adults.
"We want fans to come to women's basketball and we want to grow that attendance with regards to our games," Meyer said. "It's in the best interest, not only of our department, but more importantly our fans to keep that at $70."
