Cedar Rapids man robbed at knifepoint

Armed with a knife, a man dressed in black robbed another man early Wednesday morning, police said.

William Prowell, 55, told officers he was approached by a man around 5 a.m. when he went out to his car in the 500 block of Knollwood Dr. SE. The man had a knife and demanded money, Prowell said.

Prowell threw money on the ground and ran to a neighbor's house, yelling to them to call police. Officers searched the area but did not locate the robber.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 6-foot-4 and 190 to 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black sweat pants and white shoes. He also wore something over his face, police said.
