Beating death trial starts June 7

The second-degree murder trial of Kim Polley will start June 7 in Linn County District Court.
Attorneys today during a pre-trial hearing told the court the trial is expected to last four days. Opening statements and testimony should start 9 a.m. June 8 after one day of jury selection.
Kim Polley, 42, of Marion, is charged with second-degree murder in the beating death of Daniel Meade, 50, of Hiawatha, in December 2008. Meade was beaten in a home of one of Polley's neighbors.
