Residents asked to take part in cancer study

Cedar Rapids is about to embark on a historic event from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. June 4 at the Relay for Life. Kirkwood Community College will host a Cancer Prevention Study 3 (CPS3) sponsored by the American Cancer Society as one of only two Iowa locations this year; the other is Carroll.
As a cancer survivor, I invite you all to consider doing something I cannot. You see, in order to enroll in the study, one must never have been diagnosed with cancer, be between the ages of 30-65 and willing to fill out and send back a periodic survey over a long term.
This year, the theme for the Relay for Life is “More Birthdays 4 You” and there is no greater gift to give a cancer patient/survivor than your participation in this study. Come to Kirkwood June 4 and be a part of research in the making! Help us to not only fund the cure but find the cure.
Cedar Rapids has been given an extraordinary opportunity. Let's take advantage of this and fight back!
