After oppressive humidity from Sunday through today, Eastern Iowa will see dew points begin to drop late tonight into Thursday, according to the KCRG-TV9 Weather Lab.
In fact, dew points may drop into the upper 40s as early at Thursday afternoon, and that means cooler, drier air working into Iowa, said meteorologist Kaj O'Mara.
This means that the windows can come open once again and the air conditioners will get a break since overnight lows will likely drop into the mid-50s over the next 3-4 nights. Highs will likely be in the lower 80s for most locations.
In addition to the lower dew points (meaning less moisture in the air), the region will have far less clouds, meaning lots of sunshine.
