Will data on closing Second sway council?
Jun. 3, 2010 12:40 am
I was interested to see the recent article about using data and a trial closing of Second Avenue. Since the City Council will not listen to the people, I certainly hope it can read a report with “cold, hard, factual data.” Since it appears that a skywalk (for the proposed medical mall) “adds to the cost of the project,” maybe the whole project should be scrapped. I wonder if the council can read? Will it be able to process these bits of data?
St. Luke's Hospital has a tunnel under A Avenue. Common sense says that a tunnel or skywalk is the way to go on this project. Let's not box in downtown. Try something interesting and unconventional for once, Cedar Rapids!
