Cedar Rapidians’ generosity commended
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jun. 10, 2010 12:54 am
Arriving May 20, my sister and I returned to Cedar Rapids after a 40-year absence from the city where we were born. A visit we looked forward to as we continue our Czech genealogy work.
From the first greeting to the last, our four-day stay was memorable. Everywhere we went we were greeted with smiles and generous people who shared their time and knowledge.
We would like to acknowledge Mr. and Mrs. Frank Edmunds, caretakers at the Czech National Cemetery, who shared many hours helping us to fill in so many missing facts in our family history. They became the highlight of our visit.
The ladies of the Genealogy Society were tireless in furthering our research. The Historical Society was a tremendous help in locating photographs and artifacts relating to our family.
Thank you, Cedar Rapids.
