On June 14, 1979, Mick Kelleher (Cedar Rapids Cardinals - 1970) was 3-5 at the plate with three RBI and scored a run in the Chicago Cubs 8-6 win over the San Francisco Giants at Candlestick Park.
Mick Kelleher hit .213 during his 11 year MLB career playing for the St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers and the California Angels.
Mick Kelleher played for the 1970 Cedar Rapids Cardinals squad that finished with a mark of 57-64 under manager Roy Majtyka. Kelleher hit .266 with 10 doubles in 59 games that season.
