A thunderstorm system will enter Eastern Iowa late tonight into Sunday bringing another round of heavy rain to the area with one to two inches expected.
The National Weather Service says the ground cannot absorb any more water and will run off quickly posing a flash flood threat.
A flash flood watch is in place through Monday afternoon.
More rain in the forecast
A stagnant front will remain hanging across the Midwest for the next several days bringing with it severe thunderstorms and heavy rain.
Meteorologist says flash flooding will be a daily threat and increase that chance for river flooding. Eastern Iowa, according to the weather service, will be at a heightened risk for significant flash flooding since the ground is saturated.
