Iowa City man arrested for indecent exposure

Police arrested a man for indecent exposure in the Target parking lot of  Coral Ridge Mall.

Robert J. Meyers, 46, of Kalona was arrested Monday June 14 for an indecent exposure  incident that occurred on Memorial Day.

According to police reports, Meyers was sitting in the driver's seat of his vehicle when he began to ask a woman parked next to him about the car she was  driving. Police said the woman then noticed that Meyers wasn't wearing any pants and was masturbating while they were chatting.

Officers said the woman positively identified Meyers in a photo line-up.

Police said Meyers was also involved in another indecent exposure incident that occurred just days after the Memorial Day report, but in a Hy-vee parking lot, located on 8th street in Coralville.

According to police documents, Meyer called a woman over to his vehicle and when she looked into the window noticed he was masturbating with his pants around his ankles.

Indecent exposure  is a serious misdemeanor punishable by a fine of no more than $1 ,500 and a prison sentence for no longer than one year.

Meyers is being held in the Johnson County Jail on a $15,000 cash only bond and awaiting his June 29, initial appearance.
