Girl has minor injuries after being hit by car on First Avenue
A 12-year-old girl was taken to a hospital after she was struck by a car Tuesday on First Avenue East.
Police responded to the accident around 9:50 p.m. in the 1500 block of First Avenue East. Officers determined Jabari Walker, 31, of Seattle, Wash., was approaching 15th Street in his car when the girl ran out in front of him.
The girl, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to Mercy Medical Center with what appeared to be minor injuries.
No charges were filed in the incident, police said.
