Cory White and Krista Voda celebrated a it of a homecoming this weekend, returning back to Iowa for the NASCAR Trucks Lucas Oil 200 this weekend at Iowa Speedway.
White, a native of Vinton, and Voda, a Clinton native, both are associated with NASCAR and the Camping World Trucks Series. White is a mechanic and tire carrier for Red Horse Racing. Voda, who graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism and Business Communications, is a pit reporter for the SPEED Channel as well as a host of NASCAR Camping World Trucks Series Setup show.
Voda has spent five years contributing to SPEED's Trucks Series coverage and has been involved with NASCAR coverage for nine.
She had glowing remarks for sports fans from Iowa.
"Because there aren't any major league professional teams in the state of Iowa, the sports and sports venues that are there, are supported and loved like no other," said Voda, who was overheard razzing someone about a Clinton High School football win over Bettendorf in the early 1990s. Voda, 36, now living near Pittsburgh, is a Clinton High alumnus.
