Pelosi’s comment a shot to butter up Iowa

The July 3 Gazette printed a news item with this heading, “Loebsack-Pelosi supports protecting both sides of the Cedar.” How wonderful. Nancy Pelosi has just discovered a warm spot in her heart for Cedar Rapids.
Surely it has nothing to do with midterm elections being just around the corner, and wanting to help Congressman Dave Loebsack with his re-election efforts. Surely she can't be worried about losing too many of her obedient, toe-the-line troopers. Nancy and Dave, we're not quite as oblivious as you seem to think.
