Overworked employees need better perspective

The Gazette's Saturday lead story (“Office maxed” about employee burnout brought me to tears - tears of frustration.
Evidently readers are supposed to feel the plight of people who not only have jobs but also have to work hard. Well, boo hoo! Hopefully, work brings satisfaction and joy; however, for many it is drudgery. The wise worker looks past the unpleasant, gives thanks for having a job and focuses on the task at hand - providing food, clothing and shelter for his family.
Our society has progressed evolved to where it has spawned a whole industry of “professionals” whose main task is to counsel workers that they are being abused. MetLife says that 40 percent of its workers reported an increased workload. How sad! Poor babies.
Fear not. A little psychotherapy and some pills will make it all better.
What about the laborers we see spreading hot asphalt, or smoothing heavy, wet concrete, or down in a hole fixing a sewer? I doubt many of these folks resort to therapy or medication to keep their heads on straight.
Is there a message here?
Yes! The best therapy for coddled workers would be to work harder.
