Firefighters retrieve boat from Cedar River
Cedar Rapids Firefighters retrieved a boat that was abandoned in the Cedar River this morning.
The unoccupied boat had been tied to a tree west of the Edgewood Road bridge. A city worker reported it this morning around 8:30 a.m.
The firefighters towed the boat to the Ellis Harbor and tied it to a dock. Police were investigating and trying to contact the owner.
“It does look like they had motor problems,” Fire Department Battalion Chief Brad Brenneman said.
