Former football player’s sex assault trial reset to January

The second-degree sexual assault trial of Cedric Everson, 21, was reset Friday to Jan. 10, 2011 in Johnson County District Court.
A pre-trial hearing will be 10 a.m. Dec. 30.
Everson is accused of raping a former UI female student athlete in October 2007.
Abe Satterfield, 21, a former teammate of Everson's, pleaded guilty April 9 to assault with intent to inflict serious injury, an aggravated misdemeanor, in the same case.
Satterfield is expected to receive a suspended sentence and probation in exchange for his testimony against Everson, according to court records. His sentencing will be after Everson's trial.
