Youths paid fee to serve in church program

It is amazing how a little three-letter word “are” can change the meaning so much. In the article “Summer of serving,” in the July 17 the following sentence incorrectly stated, “Middle and high school students are each paid $100 to serve.”
Actually, these young people each paid $100 to serve in this program. I am proud of them and their leaders as they serve their Lord and community.
