Rewriting of Reagan years is appalling
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jul. 26, 2010 12:55 am
The so-called liberal media have not lived up to their conservative-driven label when it comes to many things, but this letter deals with Ronald Reagan because I recently have read/heard his name so much with such glowing fondness.
While president of the Screen Actors Guild, he lied to its members by saying he got them the best deal possible with producers, and after they trusted him and voted to accept deal, Reagan quit the Guild and became a producer and reaped the rewards he secretly laid out, leaving members out in the cold.
As U.S. president, he lied not only about dealing with terrorists but actually sold Iran weapons - after he shredded the Constitution and set up secret government run out of White House basement.
He took America from being the No. 1 creditor to the No. 1 debtor nation with his “voodoo” economics.
He may have been the only president who needed constant “handlers” who had to watch what he said/did since he could not be trusted to be on his own, such as when he met Mikhail Gorbachev in Iceland and promised to give the evil empire, free of charge, Star Wars technology.
This total rewriting of history is appalling, and the “liberal” press does nothing to enlighten.
