Iowa City sexual abuse trial delayed

The trial for an Arkansan man accused of sexually abusing a young girl has been rescheduled.
Travis L. Porter, 43, is accused of molesting a girl in Iowa City from the time she was 6 or 8 until she was 12, ending in 2003.
Porter will now stand trial in Johnson County District Court Nov. 1 on one count of second-degree sexual abuse and two counts of third-degree sexual abuse.
Officers said Porter threatened the girl by saying he would harm her family if she told them what he was doing. On one occasion, police said, Porter grabbed the girl by the throat when she tried to prevent him from touching her.
