Culver has done many good things for Iowa

Iowans have many reasons to vote for Chet Culver for governor.
Education - More than 12,000 students in 175 districts received a quality preschool education. New teacher quality initiative helped increase teachers salaries. All Iowa Opportunity Scholarships has given 1,300 awards. Invested in science, technology, engineering and math education. Implementing a new Core Curriculum.
Health care - Additional 32,000 children have received health insurance through Medicaid and Hawk-i. Healthy Kids Act removes junk food from our schools and makes Iowa's children more active. Cigarette use has dropped 32 percent, and all Iowans now work in smoke-free areas.
Conservation and environment - Iowa is second in the nation in wind energy. Maintained leadership in biofuels.
Jobs - Because of I-JOBS, 7,000-plus are employed in June. Also supports homeless services.
Veterans - Legislation extending the Veteran Homeowners Assistance Program. Historic expansion of Veterans Trust Fund. Invested in Iowa Veterans Home. Opened Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.
Civil Rights - Safe School Act to eliminate violence and bullying in schools. Expanded Iowa's civil rights law. Iowa's first statutorily authorized Commission on Native American Affairs.
Agriculture and rural Iowa - I-JOBS will provide funds for Iowa's gravel and farm-to-market roads, city streets and Iowa's bridges. School Infrastructure Local-Option tax legislation that provides millions of dollars for rural schools.
