Get off couch and vote so you can have a say

Often we are reminded of the things that go wrong and we can personally be the instigator for fixing the problem and are not. However, with the economy running on nearly empty, our sadness over the loss of “Days of Our Lives” and Twittering and text messaging, we are too into ourselves to take a stand.
Sometime ago, I wrote a letter about the problem of Cialis and other like male starches that adversely affect the minds of sexual predators. I suggested that someone initiate a petition stating that television stations no longer carry the ads. Do you want your little Lumir or Vlasta telling you years from now that they were sexually assaulted by a family friend or caregiver? If you are a responsible parent, I think not.
We can do something - write your congressman (who rely heavily on lobbyists to feed them their sponsors' views and provide moneys for their upcoming elections). Some have been in Congress too long and frankly, with their salaries, forget they have been placed there by us who pay heavily for their misdeeds of ridiculous pork barrel expenditures.
In the November election, move from the couch potato position and vote. Then you can say you have a say in deciding what your future legislator can bring to the table.
