Crews respond to partial building collapse in Washington
Emergency personnel responded to the scene of a partial building collapse at the former Perdock Dealership located at 221 West Washington St. in Washington at around 11:20 a.m. on Sunday, August 8th.
Personnel from the Washington Police Department, Washington Fire Department, Washington County Ambulance, the City of Washington, Alliant Energy, and Iowa Telecom responded to the scene.
The building was unoccupied and no injuries were reported. No further information is available at this time and the cause of the incident is under investigation. Both lanes of traffic remain closed on South Avenue B at the scene and foot traffic is prohibited at this time in the area.
